Mostly agree, but I also think that there are multiple ways to address the issue other than just acquiring a skilled rebounder.

Our offense was so bad that teams would just swarm for the rebound, because had very few dynamic players so other than Smith. Teams would largely be setup exactly how they wanted to be to secure the rebound which made getting a board harder for us. Having a more dynamic offense would help some of that. Often our offense would end up with four and sometimes all five of our players attempting to spread the floor-- with no player closer to the basket than 15 feet. It's hard to secure rebounds if everyone is outside. It's amazing what sending one guy under the screen or having a guy run the baseline can do for rebounding.

Having more versatile or skilled defensive players would also help, because Rick was so scared that we'd fail in transition that he constantly sent all five guys back after a shot attempt. You can't get an offensive board if your players are all racing back to defend.

Anyway, I think you are correct-- we need to work on rebounding, but there are just multiple ways to either fix, address, or hide that weakness so we shouldn't feel obligated to draft a guy like Ayton to address rebounding when a guy like Doncic or Bridges could also elevate our team play and make our rebounding issues less apparent.
