as I said, I think I may be so desperate for Mavs news that I'm reading WAY too into that, but it sounds like they more want a sure thing with some potential upside (Carter, Bridges) than guys like Jackson, Bamba, and particularly Porter-- guys who may be stars, but may also be out of the league in 4-5 years.
Priority 1 - get SOMETHING
Priority 2 - special upside
