It is probably when the Covid test results from today came back. Covid is exploding around the US now, including the NBA. Mavs have a deep bench, and are going to need it. Covid issues, such as these, is the reason that dallas G League team was cancelled - to keep our rookies here, to be able to play in situations like this. It’s being reported that the Grizzlies say he hasn’t tested positive. The Grizzlies coach told a reporter that they were informed right before the half by the league that he needed to be pulled for some reason.
