So the refs make calls like that all the time. For Dallas Mavericks, they make calls only when they feel and think THAT THEY MUST given the situation. And for other teams they officiate in the opposite direction.
So the ref makes this call here only so as to avoid giving an obvious appearance that he is biased. Because it became soo obvious to everyone that it was a foul so he HAD TO make a call. |
Look at that video !!!! The ref blew the whistle AFTER THE GSW PLAYER RAISED HIS OWN HAND THAT IT WAS A FOUL. It was so obvious EVEN TO HIM. But it was not obvious to the ref because the league controls the refs that are officiating the Mavs' games. They give them notes and directions on how to ref games, what players are to be given what sorts of calls, etcetera.
