Per the great @jkubatko : The Mavs are just the 3rd franchise in NBA history to have a non-playoff season sandwiched by two conference finals appearances. The join the Golden State Warriors (1972-73 to 1974-75) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (2013-14 to 2015-16).
