Finley's stepping in to his role quite nicely now. For the most part, he's playing solid defense and is finding his rhythm offensively.

Why would the mavs trade a pretty decent defender in exchange for a guy that would have difficulty guarding half the PG's that have played at Tarleton State over the past two decades?

I can understand that you'd want the insurance policy at the PG spot. However, that is not how Nellie would use NVE. We'd have starting lineups with Nash, Delk, NVE, Toine and Dirk.

Does anyone seriously want that?
