I admire Americans sense of patriotism, it is something we don't see too often in Australia. The Olympics are a prestigious event on the world stage, I can understand that the IOC don't want it to be dominated by one nation.

I think there should be some part of the ceremony devoted to remembering the events of September 11. I'm sure there will be.
