The point may have merit but only if it's directed at the raef trade(imho). I think everyone knew nve would be trade-bait. It had to be either him or stevie if not this year then next.

But I DO think that the mavs think the raef deal was not so hot. Especially dirk lost the only big guy on the team who with him/bradley were having to play the big boys.

You're really certain about that? Raef would be on the Injured list and lost for the year so the Mavs would be in the same situation they are in right now(though Van Exel would still be here which would be good for continuity's sake but Jiri? Will he be getting the same chances to play that Daniels and Howard are getting? Doubtful).
Of course I can't swear to it. But we are talking about guys being upset that someone was traded. I don't think anyone was surprised that nick was traded. Heck he was almost a max point guard and they are going to have to either let nash go or semi-max him out next year. So I think everyone expected it, especially NVE, he said as much many times. However Raef had just been signed to a long-term contract. The NVE deal was to GET Raef or so the mavs said. And if I'm dirk, they are trading away the guy who had to guard shaq/duncan and bang with them in the paint, pick up all of those fouls that HE'S having to pick up now. I also thought dirk/raef kind of felt like the big boys of the team. And they were. If I were dirk I would see the raef deal as mgmt trading away the guy who had just gone through the inside wars with him and stood in there the whole way.

The knee thing is irrelevant to whether the trade was made or not.

Biggest mistake was getting rid of Avery Johnson and Yes...I DO BELIEVE THAT NELLIE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH HIM GETTING THE BOOT BECAUSE HE FEARED FOR HIS JOB SECURITY.... EDIT
Childish.
And how is that childish? Where there's smoke there's definitely fire, my friend. You don't think Nellie was looking forward to having Avery Johnson take his place, do you?
