The Portland Trail Blazers and New Jersey Nets have agreed on a trade involving the 22nd pick in the upcoming NBA draft. As sources told ESPN.com, the Nets would send that selection to the Trail Blazers in exchange for point guard Eddie Gill and $3 million. The deal reportedly cannot be announced until after the first round of the June 24 draft has concluded.

Hmm...the Nets agree to a trade for a point guard one day after the news comes through that Jason Kidd will undergo knee surgery on July 1. It's hardly surprising that the Nets would be worried about Kidd's future status, and Gill played 19 minutes per game as a backup for New Jersey in the 2000-01 season. Meanwhile, the Blazers would enter the draft with picks at 13, 22, and 23, and they may look to make some more moves over the next few days.
