You got to do this deal. Try to get New Jersey to throw in a No. 1 pick as well, but you got to do it.

You have a great lineup;

Kidd/Devin Harris/Stefansson
Daniels/Lucious Harris
Finley/Najera
Dirk/Laettner
Bradley/Booth/Benga

IR: TAW/Mourning/Pavel

Mourning may not play, but if he ever does then it's a bonus. In the meantime he can tutor Pavel & DJ. A. Johnson goes to the coaching staff to be D. Harris' personal mentor. Yes, it would be nice to keep Howard, but you got to give up something to get something. L. Harris is on an expiring contract so if you don't want him, then you can let him go next year. Same with Laettner--that will make space for Pavel & the first round draft choice Dallas (I hope) picks up from New Jersey to be on the roster. Maybe you could still trade Laettner for a small forward (where Dallas is a little thin) and Najera could back up Dirk, but Daniels could also swing down to the three, or you could play Stefansson some at the two.

This would be a strong defensive team, explosive running and feature Dirk as its primary weapon in the set offense. A much better team than last year.
