Default Cavaliers waive Hunter

Too bad the Mavs already have enough backup centers.

Cavaliers waive Hunter

August 10, 2004

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers waived center Steven Hunter on Tuesday.

The 7-foot center was acquired by the Cavs in the July 23 trade that sent Tony Battie and two future second-round draft picks to Orlando for Hunter, Drew Gooden and Anderson Verejao.

Hunter averaged 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in his 145-game career. He was the 15th overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2001 NBA draft.
