Sugar is a refined carbohydrate, thus "empty" calories. "Empty" meaning no nutritional payoff.
As far as losing the weight gained either of these foods it would be the same. But given the high amount of sugar, the "good" choice would be the food with less sugar.
When your body burns calories, it will always burn the carbohydrates first. Carbohydrates have 3 calories per gram (on average), so it takes less energy to metabolize. Fat has 9 calories per gram (on average).
