Sturm we have to pay for it, but we don't have to pay for it immediately. Deficit spending is justified in times of national emergency IMO, and I would classify our situation with Iraq and the war on terror a national emergency. If the alternative to military spending was significant loss of life most people would want to spend the money. Now not everyone may agree that Iraq was necessary to prevent significant loss of life, but that's why Bush did it. If Bush didn't cut taxes, then our recession would most likely have gotten worse instead of better. Over increased recession and significant loss of life, I would chose to have the deficit that we have.
