I don't think it's an unbelievably optimistic prediction. It's the Mavs winning the games that they 'should' win and losing the games that they 'should' lose. Obviously, you're not going to win every game that Vegas would predict you to lose and you're not going to LOSE every game that Vegas predicts you to lose.
