THE HIGH FIVE

Phoenix 1. Phoenix Suns (30-4) – The Suns undressed Indiana on Sunday night and are far and away the most entertaining, high-scoring team in the league. Shaq comes to town Tuesday night for some "Must see TV."

San Antonio 2. San Antonio Spurs (28-8) – Scary when your team's fourth-best player is named the NBA's Player of the Week. They are deep, talented, defensive-minded and have great chemistry. Other than that they're not that good.

Seattle 3. Seattle SuperSonics (24-8) – The Sonics have a lot of firepower, and Luke Ridnour is making it all click. His passing and playmaking skills are keeping this team happy.

Miami 4. Miami Heat (27-9) – The Heat are dominating the East, but after two recent losses to Seattle, they're just 7-7 against the West.

Dallas 5. Dallas Mavericks (22-10) – How good is Dirk? In the Mavericks' five-game winning streak, Nowitzki is averaging 32 points and nine boards

THE LOW FIVE

Golden State 26. Golden State Warriors (11-24) – After a recent four-game winning streak, the Warriors have dropped six straight – including Sunday night's beating at the hands of the Raptors. Injuries to Dale Davis, Jason Richardson and Derek Fisher haven't helped Mike Montgomery's cause.

Utah 27. Utah Jazz (12-24) – After a 6-1 start that had Jazz fans talking playoffs, Utah has gone 6-23. Where have you gone, Andrei Kirilenko?

Charlotte 28. Charlotte Bobcats (8-22) – The Bobcats' point-guard tandem of Brevin Knight and Jason Hart stand 1-2 in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio.

Atlanta 29. Atlanta Hawks (5-26) – Rookie Josh Smith is ridiculously athletic, and the Hawks' woes are giving him some playing time.

New Orleans 30. New Orleans Hornets (3-29) – The Hornets showed some fire in their overtime win over Sacramento. Baron Davis' return will help. The Hornets need him to stay healthy in order to make a run at respectability.
