The likelyhood that Marquis would develop into a good player if and only if Finley goes is extremely small. That's a sucker bet. Who knows Josh Howard might develop into the next Michael Jordan if we cut Dirk, or DJ might become the next Hakeem if we cut Damp, or if we cut Terry and Harris and go get some 3rd string college player who just graduated then maybe he could develop into the next Jason Kidd.
In this case the Mavs don't have to sacrifice Fin for anything except saving Cuban, who's already richer than snot, some money.
