Boston does this becuase both players are very much over paid, and they can only waive one or the other. This way they trade to horrible contracts for an even worse one, but because there is only one cantract they can waive away salary as if it was of theire revious two contracts.

i.e. turn raef and blounts contract into fin-dawg's and waive him.

why the celts do this?

1. they are rebuilding. cap space
2. more playing time for developing youngsters like perkins and jefferson

Dallas does this to aquire the backup PF/C we need. Now, we got a choice of a back up big man with a great shooting touch in raef, or a banger with blount. your choice, pick one, waive the other. Also this gives us a chance to resign fin after he is waived.

1. big man
2. possibly resign fin

your thoughts??
