Default Macijauskas off the board

New Orleans Hornets: The Hornets have agreed in principle to a three-year contract with Lithuanian shooting guard Arvydas Macijauskas, the player's agent says.

Macijauskas played for Lithuania in the 2004 Olympics in Athens and scored a team-high 24 points in a 104-96 loss to the United States in the bronze medal game. He also helped Lithuania upset the United States 94-90 in a preliminary round game. He scored eight points in that game.

Agent Marc Fleisher said Macijauskas settled on New Orleans because he will have an opportunity to contribute from the start.

"I think he plays a very exciting, flamboyant style of basketball, and I think he will be a huge crowd favorite," Fleisher said.

Macijauskas, 25, has played professionally in Europe since he was 16. Fleisher said the player is expected to sign on July 22.
