Shouldn't this really be about having a capable experienced backup who can competently sub for the starter should something happen to him? In '02-'03, we beat SAC in the playoffs because they didn't have a capable replacement for Webber when he went down, and in the next round we lost to SA because Dirk went down and we had no one to take his place. We might not be able to add the FA PF we sign to the postseason roster, but surely he could help us down the stretch under any contingencies. Rogers can play PF and he can shoot the 3 which means he has a game similar to KVH which means we could still get a modicum of O from a post guy when Dirk goes to the bench.
