They have updated the story, and perhaps I should lower my surety rate. They think it may have been a carjacking, because his Impala was "in excellent condition and had been modified." Still seems awfually unusual, though, to kill somebody for a modified Impala.
The story also says he was shot in the back of the head and the thigh.
I'm just glad the kid lived.
