Was just watching the 1984 Finals on ESPN Classic... as the program wraps up, it shows a clip of Magic talking after the game seven loss: "We gave it away... and they won it, too. Just one of those things."

ps: historical footnote: Magic led the Lakers back to the Finals the next year and got that trophy back.

here's hoping this little bit of history is on our side (rather than the much larger history of teams who didn't make it all the way back)!
