The best thing about this (and the thing that might have put this decision over the top) is the Snape stuff.
That is a huge break in the climactic end, where the mood and the imagery would greatly fragment the battle and the flow of a movie. Now they will have time to do it properly. That was my biggest worry about this film. I figured they would gloss over the Snape thing in a hasty mess, but now that they've given themselves the time that is necessary, I hope they will do him justice.
