The reason I am leary about this trade is that I think Nick is a better backup than Ward. I didn't always think that.
I think we need an upgrade in the front court ie KT, but I don't think we should do so at the expense of the backcourt. We need a solid backup swingman like Russell so that NVE and Nash aren't on the floor together so much. ALthough NVE is not good defensively, Nash isn't all that great either, so we really don't lose much defensively with Nick on the floor. NVE will gel better with the team with a full season, and I think he will prove to be more valuable than he was last year.
