Stars Will Host Colorado, St. Louis, Chicago and Edmonton During Seven-Game Slate


FRISCO, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the club will host four pre-season games at American Airlines Center in Dallas and will play a total of seven pre-season contests in 2008.

The Stars also announced today that the club’s training camp will open on Friday, September 19 at the Frisco Dr Pepper StarCenter. Medicals and photos will take place on Thursday in Frisco, followed by practices on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Dallas will then begin its seven-game pre-season schedule in St. Louis vs. the Blues at the Scottrade Center on Tuesday, September 23.

Dallas will begin the home portion of their pre-season by hosting the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, September 25. The Stars will also host the Blues on Saturday, September 27; the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, October 2; and the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, October 5.

REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE COMING THURSDAY

The NHL’s full regular season schedule will be released tomorrow. The new schedule matrix ensures more games between the Eastern and Western Conferences, with Dallas playing 18 games vs. the East (up from just 10 in each of the last three seasons). Nine of the games vs. the East will be at American Airlines Center (up from five in each of the last three campaigns).

Highlights of the upcoming Stars regular season schedule include three home-and-home matchups with the Eastern Conference. Dallas will play the following three teams at home and on the road:
• The New Jersey Devils (in Dallas for the traditional New Year’s Eve game on December 31).
• The New York Rangers (in Dallas on Friday, February 6).
• The Florida Panthers (in Dallas on Saturday, March 28).

The Stars will open the regular season at home, hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday, October 10.
