80 year olds in Dade County and the Supreme Court would not have mattered if the NRA did not rally Michigan to GW Bush and tilt other state races in the same way.

You are missing the point. If Kerry or Al Gore could have won Arkansas, Dade County and the Supreme Court would not have mattered.

Right now, the race rests with Ohio and Michigan. If both go Republican, then you have a dead heat in the electoral college at this point. They are the difference. Go to Rasmusen and look at the numbers.

In the last two election cycles, the NRA made the difference. Of course, gay marriage was a huge advantage to GW Bush also.
