I remember being frustrated by that play as well. Dirk could/would have caught and shot for a wide open FT jumper which he makes about 75% of the time. Stupid play and indefensible by Howard to not make that pass, but it's nothing new and it didn't surprise me.
I think waiting for Howard's trade value to go back up is a mistake. It's just as likely to go down with an injury or another "incident". I think there's teams in the east that would value his scoring ability.
