This sounds like Amare is disgruntled and refuses to play hard. I wouldn't want that kind of player in return for "Dirk freaking always does care" Dirk.
And btw, I wouldn't want to part with "Terry freaking passionate as hell" Terry either.
Those two players are the true faces of the Mavs right now. I wouldn't want to mess with that.
