I compiled and provided the list for you. All the utilities I posted are completely free. No hacks, crack or illegal commercial products. no 90-day (or whatever) crap. All freeware

They are all useful. I can't tell you which ones I prefer. You have to find that out for yourself. I'll tell you some of the ones I like...

For video I use VLC player
For Audio I prefer Foobar 2000
GIMP is a very good alternative to Photoshop (and it's free)

Here is the cream of the crop in media players

not bad...standard player. will play almost anything just like the name says

another standard

A lot of people are preferring KMP over VLC now. Test the goodies out for yourself.
