The hippie lifestyle is alive and well in Austin. It's a strange day here. People in line at Whole Foods talking about "Black Tuesday." It's pitiful!
Many original (1960's) hippies are still alive. They are just older. There's even a song about an old hippie: "He grows a little garden in the backyard by the fence. He's consuming what he's growing now days in self defense. He and his kind get more endangered every day and pretty soon the species will just up and fade away."
