I assume Houston would try to re-sign Artest, but that doesn't mean we can't offer him up the full MLE for 5 years and see if it's enough to lure him away--or, at worst, drive up the price for a division rival to hang onto their own player, thereby cutting into their ability to make additional free agent moves.
