Mejri would count if he played good 1 on 1 defense, had more buik, and rebounded better. You are somewhat making my point with the others. Yes, JJ is pesky, and Deron played decent defense...but are either of them defensive stalwarts, someone you can put out there to lock down on their guy and really disrupt his game? No. Mavs need another player who can (assuming Matthews fits that bill). Preferably someone who can guard 3's and 4's. Basically...someone like Shawn Marion. Parsons was supposed to be that guy, but not sure anyone other than Mavs brass ever saw it that way.
