That is still 100% bullshit. Mavs were told it was there ball. The announcers called it. The scoreboard recorded it. Then without telling anyone, they handed the ball to the Warriors for an easy score. It's unprofessional behavior.
None of that exonerates Kidd, Cuban, or Luka, but both the Mavs and the refs can both be incompetent dicks.
