I remember hearing something along these lines, but the word back then was that L.A. wanted Dirk in exchange for Kobe and Cuban turned it down because he wanted to pair Dirk and Kobe together... In hindsight, I can't say that I blame him, considering that Dirk carried his team to a championship with a LOT less to work with than Kobe ever had during his runs.

But if we could've gotten Kobe for JET/Stack/Harris/J-Ho/Damp, then it would've been a no-brainer... Too bad the basketball gods favor Mitch Kupachak for whatever reason (does he have incriminating pics of David Stern with Jerry Sandusky or something?)
