Anderson was in the middle of an ACC Player of the Year season when he broke his hand, then underwent an appendectomy, causing him to miss the last eight games of the regular season. At that time, he was killing it from 3-point range at .482. Despite missing so many games down the stretch, he was a finalist for the Julius Erving Award and also earned second-team All-ACC honors. He was a big reason Virginia won the ACC regular-season championship for the second consecutive year.

Key statistics: 12.2 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.2 tpg, 27.8 mpg, .466 FG, .452 3PT, .780 FT

Cool statistic: Anderson set career highs in scoring, 3-point percentage and minutes played in his final season at Virginia.

What Insiders Say
Virginia coach Tony Bennett

“He’s worked hard on his game, and has earned this opportunity to realize his life-long dream of playing in the NBA. He helped us win a lot of games.”

What Outsiders Say
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo

“Anderson, if you watch him before he got hurt, I think was playing at a whole other level.”

Anderson's energy and ability to guard multiple positions are big pluses. At 228 pounds, he's not getting pushed around.

"He's a good player and he's going to have a chance to be a good pro," said a coach whose team has played against Anderson. "Very athletic, explosive. I disregard (his numbers) when he came back from the hand. Before that, he was playing at a very high level
