The VC proponents argue that you never pass up on a player with VC's talent, whether its a "fit" for the Mavs or not. Especially if you can get him for Walker and change. They also argue that VC then becomes a valuable bargaining chip to obtain that elusive "fit" player: a starting 5.

Well, look at Toronto's roster. Don't you think they'd like a decent 5 to start so Bosh can play the 4? If VC is so valuable, why doesn't Toronto just trade him for Dampier or the like?
