Unless Tim Hardaway Jr. declines his $19 million player option, expect the Mavericks to use the Taxpayer MLE instead of trying to clear cap space in 2020. It will be interesting to see how the front office approaches long-term spending because they could actually have close to max space in 2021 while retaining all of their core but that flexibility decreases with a multi-season MLE contract."
