Injuries continue for the Pacers
Pacers F Jackson taken to hospital
February 1, 2006
INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Indiana Pacers' injury woes continued as starting forward Stephen Jackson was taken to the hospital during Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jackson was attempting a driving layup with 2:15 left in the second quarter when he collided with Lakers forward Brian Cook and fell to the ground, landing awkwardly on his tailbone.
He remained on the ground clutching his lower back and had to be carried to the locker room by teammates Scot Pollard and David Harrison. Jackson, who is second on the team with 15.8 points a game, later was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The Pacers already are without leading scorer and rebounder Jermaine O'Neal until at least mid-March because of a left groin tear. Starting point guard Jamaal Tinsley also is sidelined with a sore elbow.
