MightToine, I've been more friendly and more patient than a lot of posters on this board to you. I'm not sure I appreciate you coming at me saying that I want Walker traded. That makes me mad...

I have been fair to Walker all season long. While others have repeatedly crucified him, I've also made note of all the positive things he does for this team. I think he could be a huge asset to Dallas.

But yes, my preference is to keep Antawn Jamison. And if one of the Twins were to be traded for Wallace, I want Walker to be the one to get dealt. Apparently, some of the Mavs organization seems to feel the same way.

I qoute Marc Stein:
"The Mavericks have their own hesitations. Trading Antoine Walker instead of Jamison probably makes more sense for Dallas, but sources say the Blazers aren't interested in Walker, even though Walker's contract also expires in 2005. Giving up Jamison instead, meanwhile, could give the Mavericks the most volatile chemistry they've had in years -- with Walker and Wallace on the same team -- and guarantees Cuban a very expensive summer.

Making this trade, as constituted, would leave Dallas with three max-contract players (Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Finley and Walker) and two of this summer's most coveted free agents (Wallace and Steve Nash). The Mavericks would also be risking the loss of Wallace without compensation in the summer, after billing Nowitzki and Jamison as their frontcourt tandem for the foreseeable future."

Would you please take note of the comment about trading Walker making more sense to Dallas!
Also, please note that Dirk and Jamison are the ones apparently being billed as the frontcourt of the foreseeable future. Not Walker.

If Walker stays, that's fine with me. I hope he and this team have great success together. But if I had to choose, I would trade Walker for Wallace.

I seriously hope that one of these days you can talk basketball with me instead of concentrating all of your efforts in defending a player you have no need to defend with me. I like Walker. Relax. Now, move on.
First off, I apologize for my outburst. It was out of line and very UN-MightyToine like(at least the Good Mightytoine...lol). Now let me say this :

Marc stein SAYS that the Mavericks have their hesitations. Now what does he base that on? Does he KNOW WHAT CUBAN IS THINKING? How does he know that Cuban is "hesitant"? What makes him think that Cuban is even remotely thinking of trading Walker at this point?

*THAT* is my beef with this whole issue(again sorry for attacking you and I applaud you for your restraint in letting me have it 'cause I did deserve whatever retort you would respond with). Marc STEIN Himself is saying this as if he KNOWS what's going on in Cuban's head. Truth of the matter is :

HE DOESN'T! It's all S-P-E-C-U-L-A-T-I-O-N.

Oh and I saw that "Dirk and Jamison as the future of their frontcourt statement". But what about the future of their BACKCOURT? Walker and Nash make a pretty good combo, don't you think?
