He's decided that the only guys he want in the locker room are the guys that the Mavs have developed and molded into good locker room guys or FA's who are low budget players with a good soldier attitude off the floor.
He ain't taking no risk on guys like a Nick Van Exel, Monte Ellis, Deshawn Stephenson's anymore. He's been trying to get buy and save his money by using duck tape.
The man basically came out and said right after that Clippers series that his team needs a big secondary ball handler. Yet he proceeds to make resigning THJ his top priority and then throw darts at guys Bullock and Brown the same way he did with Josh Richardson and Delon Wright the previous two years.
I hate to say it but it might be time for Cuban to sale the team or relinquish 100% GM responsibility to someone else.

Our problems are actually much bigger than a center or secondary ball handler though. The entire roster is being asked too much of them outside of Luka and KP. They just aren't good enough.
What we've done is prioritize bench players that you can relatively easily replace in a pinch versus trying to get actual talent.
My plan is to trade THJ/Brunson/DFS picks for as good of a third talent as you can get. Fill out the roster at a later date. This isn't something that is going to happen over night, but the entire FO philosophy has been backwards thinking.
