Home court advantage is incredibly overrated in the playoffs, most of the time. The reason you see such a correlation between the team with HCA and the team winning the series is because the team with HCA is usually better.
And two evenly matched teams, home court is extremely important. Just see Utah as the example to that. They suck on the road even though they are just as good as any of the other teams liker Portland, Phx, Houston. Portland is another example of that too. Great at home and poor on the road.

HCA is going to be huge once again this year in the west. It will mean nothing in the East until Cleveland, Boston, Orlando play each other.
