Default new mods

Above all, a mod must also try to be as impartial as possible - treating all members equally no matter their post count. Many of us are quick to dismiss and jump on those we consider to be trolls (who by the way should still be held to the 3 Strike policy UNLESS it is clear they are here only to piss people off), but we seem to hold older, more "established" members to different standards. This, at times, can be a problem, since it then becomes a chore to lay the hammer down on individuals we have since become friends with. Giving them some leeway is ok, but a disctinct line must be drawn. Just something for those interested in becoming a mod to think about. You CAN'T play favorites. That will only lead to more problems down the road, among both the members of this site and the rest of the moderating team.
