The democrats do, they keep holding him up as their standard bearer and one of the pillars of their party.

You can't just discount what kennedy says as some sort of lunatic fringe. There is a huge constiuency in the democrat party that thinks he is right on. You cannot seperate the party from their leaders.

Although some would like to, just like refusing to accept a liberal tag.
