If Dampier plays against Phoenix, I seriously doubt Dirk picks up 5 fouls. That is what I mean by absorbing contact. That might not directly translate to "points" but it does affect the game if Dirk is considered the last line of defense and has to take a foul or two because of "defensive pressure" on all outsides.

I doubt Damp saves Dirk from fouls any more than Bradley does.
