The good news is that teams will be tanking. Most teams will fake injuries and rest guys, but some teams may not want some expensive vets. Pacers may trade Turner. Rockets would be stupid not to trade Gordon.

The biggest problem is McGee. If he stepped in and dominated, we would have a really sweet expiring trade chip to net us something (Powell), but McGee so far as been terrible enough that we might need to keep Powell through the TDL

Mavs expirings
Wood - Hopefully we can re-sign. If he wants out, we need to trade him for something.0
Powell - nice piece in trade, but we may need him unless there is a huge positive turn for McGee. Even then, he's insurance
Frank - not a lot of market, but he is decent salary ballast
Compazzo - no market other than expiring
Pinson - no market other than expiring
You say no assets and then list a few lol I know what you mean, though.

However, I really hope our FO is aggressive. Every year it feels like there's a trade made in the NBA and I get a "that's it?" reaction. They could easily upgrade this roster if they choose to do so. Now, if they do or not will be telling, but I don't think this roster wins a championship, and honestly feel they could be a piece or two away.

Here's to hopping there's a good number of bottom dweller teams and the cream rises faster this year. Would open up a lot of scenarios to improve.
