They're overrated underachievers...plain and simple. The star on the helmet clouds a lot of people's judgment.

The defense is borderline average, sure you've got guys like Newman, Ware, Spears etc etc...but if they're just getting sacks, that's not going to be enough, you need turnovers.

The leadership isn't strong with ownership, coaching staff and, at times, the quarterback. UD isn't that far off with 6-10, have you seen the schedule? The division is very bi-polar at moments but there are teams you need to respect and worry about.

As for the coaching situation, fire Wade - as suggested earlier, get an assistant to take over for the year and push hard for Cowher or Jimmy.
