Dirk is not "wrong". He is right, but people are reading too much into his words.
Dirk is simply complimenting Durant and saying that his developement-curve is much quicker than Dirk's. And that right now he might be even the best player in this league (with aging Dirk, Kobe, Duncan and co...)

...it is just Dirk being Dirk. He is saying the same stuff about Aldridge, too. Just a humble guy. And it is up to you, how you (mis)interpret his words...
