Fiction is DEFINITELY where it's at.
I think that reading non-fiction gives you a much more actionable better understanding of reality. Really, no matter the subject matter, a non-fiction book will at least give you knowledge you didn't previously have. A book of fiction, unless we're talking real definitive novels (the works of W. Somerset Maugham, for example), doesn't give me that. I feel like a more complete human being after reading a good piece of non-fiction than I do in something that is usually a complete fabrication.
