If Bradley retires due to injuries I can see why he should still get paid for any remaining years on his guaranteed contract. However, if he retires by choice I don't see why he should get paid anything or continue counting against our cap. (If that was the case, then it would seem a player could sign a multiyear contract and simply retire ASAP.) Wouldn't it be to the Mavs advantage to force Bradley to prove his retirement is injury-related unless that is clearly the case?
