Whither PF Karl Malone? Though sources indicate he is doing quite well in semiretirement--hunting and running his lumber business--few general managers really believe Malone will sit out the whole season. Utah has been mentioned as a possible return destination, and San Antonio and Minnesota have courted Malone, but he still remains more likely to return to the Lakers than to go elsewhere. He should make a decision by the middle of December. . . .
