Why not alter your offense a little and incorporate more mid range shots meaning pass up the 3 a little more often?

I noticed Pop's made this adjustment with the Spurs once they got DeRozan and Aldridge there was a breakdown as to how the Spurs had gone against the trend of the current NBA 3's and relied more on the mid range range.

Dallas some really good mid range shooters in Luka, KP, Brunson, THJ and Josh Richardson but all those guys are high volume 3 point shooters.

Why not cut those shots in half until the data reflects improvement as a team instead of keep hoisting them and getting the same results?

I also think they spend way too much encouraging non 3-point shooters to launch those shots more.
It’s really just Luka, KP, and Richardson dragging them down. All those guys have proven they are capable of doing much better. They are getting open shots, but missing shots they normally make. Richardson is a career 36% shooter but hitting only 28%. Kp shot 35% last year is shooting 28%.
